Overview
The objective of the activity is to support the design and implementation of OBA subsidy schemes that aim to extend water and sanitation services to the poor in SSA. This will be achieved by providing technical assistance (TA) for project identification, design and implementation support.
Status
Closed. As planned, the activity supported urban sanitation project in Ghana in this reporting period, applying analytics for the Mobilizing Finance for Development approaches. Overall, this activity provided design and implementation support, including project viability and financial analysis for water and sanitation projects in Uganda (rural water), Ghana (urban sanitation), Kenya (urban sanitation), and Tanzania (solar water pumps). The Uganda rural water scheme did not prove feasible.
